Edvantage needed systems to run its education business as well as products for learners. USQ's Principal Engineer built the staff CRM, operations workflows and shared Django API, then delivered an IELTS mock-test platform for authoring, administering and taking assessments. AI-assisted speaking and writing feedback is designed to fail safely, with review paths for unassessable or low-confidence submissions.

Operations platform
USQ built the staff CRM and operations workflows for leads, draft leads, applications, documents, tasks, appointments, staff management and reporting. Separate staff and learner frontends sit on a shared Django API.
The delivery covered the full stack: Django and Python services, React and Vue frontends, authentication, administration and the underlying workflow design.
Assessment product
The learner-facing product lets staff author and administer IELTS mock tests, while students sign up, take assessments across all four skills and review their results. The authoring system covers test, section, part, question group, question and media.
The same product estate supports student profiles, administration, notifications and grading review.
AI-assisted grading, with controls
Writing and speaking feedback is generated against recorded scoring criteria and presented with strengths, areas for improvement and next steps. Scores remain server-owned rather than being calculated in the browser.
Silence, off-topic responses and low-confidence submissions are capped, withheld or routed for review rather than silently producing a score. A deterministic 5% random audit provides an additional review path.
